Aside from his concert work as a Classical Guitarist, Chris has
provided entertainment for a range of functions both corporate and
personal. His music has delighted guests at cocktail parties, weddings,
press launches, corporate hospitality events and intimate family
birthdays. Classical
guitarists can provide the perfect background in many situations,
especially wedding entertainment. In London he has played in such
settings as the Hyde Park Hotel, the Garrick Club and the Victoria &
Albert Museum in the presence of H.R.H. Princess Alexandra. He has also
entertained at the Henley Festival and aboard the cruise liners Chris Nicholson's repertoire includes classic works by Albeniz, Bach, Villa-Lobos, Rodrigo, Beethoven "Cavatina" by Myers and lighter music by Eric Clapton, Gershwin, John Denver and Andrew Lloyd Webber. His repertoire can be tailored to your needs. Chris is a graduate of the Royal Academy of Music. He has studied with distinguished guitarists Julian Bream and John Williams and in Spain with maestros Jose Tomas and Alex Garrobe. He has performed throughout the UK at events such as the Edinburgh Festival, the 1st International Guitar Duo Festival, the Battersea Contemporary Music Festivals and the Bolivar Guitar Series. He was a finalist in the 1998 Velez-Malaga International Guitar Competition broadcast on Spanish Television. Alongside his solo work Chris also works in a variety of ensembles.
